The greener way to freshen up your loo or drains.
Firstly, why should you make your own toilet boil fizzy bombs? In store-bought chemical cleaners, the most active ingredient is hydrochloric acid (HCl). This chemical is corrosive to the skin and also toxic if ingested. Ewwwwww. If the acid or mist comes into contact with the skin, eyes, or internal organs, the damage can be irreversible or even fatal in severe cases. In addition to that, chemical cleaners also contain sulfates which can trigger asthma attacks in those with asthma.
I think this is enough reason for making my own toilet bowl cleaner with natural ingredients and you only need 2.

What you need:
1 cup bicarbonate soda aka baking soda (125gr Natron)
1/2 cup citric acid (250gr Zitronensäure)
Add a little bit of water or castile soap (I used my vinegar spray)
Optional are a 10 drops of Essential Oil, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus is my choice
1 ice cube, silicone tray or egg tray (1 Eiswürfelform, Silikonform oder Eierkarton)
How to form the bombes:
In a ceramic or glass bowl, stir to combine the bicarbonate soda and citric acid. Slowly spray in some water or add castile soap and stir until the mixture is a thick and almost crumbly paste. If you use Essential Oils add them and stir until everything is combined well.
Push the mixture into ice cube or silicone trays and allow to dry for at least 4 hours – outside in the warm sun works best. You might have to give them another push down in between as they tend to rise while drying. When the bombs are thoroughly dry (they should be very hard), remove them from the tray and store them in an airtight container (e.g. glass jar).
So, if you need a quick fix for cleaning the toilet or just a quick freshening up, drop a bomb of these into the toilet bowl and let it sizzle. If you do this regularly (every 3 days) less scrubbing will become necessary and your bathroom will always smell fresh at the same time. aaahhhhhhh
PS. Essential Oils The Essential Oils eliminate nasty odour naturally and work as antiseptics as well. Lemon, eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary, tea tree, and peppermint are popular oils for cleaning products. I like eucalyptus and lemon for the bathroom, however, I try not to use too much of Essential Oil in cleaning products since I have learned how much goes into those drops. So if I don't feel like they are adding a huge benefit to what I am making I will simply leave them out.
Let me know in the comments on Instagram how you like them.
